Mohana (Mrs. Harinder Mohan Kaur Sachdeva, Nee. Wadhwa) my wife, to my mind, the most beautiful woman, who was gifted by God, with qualities of head and heart.
Mohana was an alumni of Delhi University's famous Miranda House. She did her MSc in Zoology, followed by a B.Ed. degree and dedicated her entire life in teaching science to several students, many of whom are still indebted to her for her contribution to get some gainful jobs.
She was a kind and large hearted person and often helped girls from poor families in paying their fees, uniforms and even some woollens in Delhi's winter.
She was the daughter of a senior learned bureaucrat, S. Balwant Singh Wadhwa and sister to elder brother, NBS Wadhwa, a naval architect and younger brother, GBS Wadhwa, a senior executive of the State Bank of India. Her mother Mrs. Bhajanjit Kaur Wadhwa, with her poise, left an indelible mark on her personality.
My marriage to her almost fifty years ago was as if ordained by God Almighty. She gifted me with two beautiful daughters, Sona Arora (wife of a Chartered Accountant, Manvinder Arora settled overseas), the second Roopa Sachdeva (married to Col. Harmeek Singh, now a Bank Vice President).
Both Sona and Roopa attained high education, former MSc chemistry B, Ed and latter MA Mass communications coupled with English graduation and commercial arts.
Mohana and Myself together have three grandchildren, one girl, Tavleen and two young men, Hemal and Gobind, all accomplished.
Now when we were about to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, God called her back to heaven leaving the family in tears.
Guru Meher!
Wahe Guru!
